This is a charming Victorian art glass bowl with a few points of difference.
It is made from clear glass that shades to pale ruby at the edges, & measures 15.5 cm across the top, 6 cm tall, & 6.5 cm across the applied footed base. The bowl has a white threaded decor which spirals towards the centre.
What are the differences? Well, most art glass bowls of the 1880s era are set into silverplate stands (which have often gone missing). This one is definitely intended as a freestanding piece because of the circular footed base, which features a leaf - like embossed decor.
The other interesting aspect of this piece is that the pontil scar is covered by an applied "raspberry" prunt, which is a rarely seen addition.
I think this bowl is most likely English in origin, probably one of the top Stourbridge makers.
    In perfect condition.

IronLace, three possibilities for a Stourbridge firm making this item - Richardson, Stevens & Williams and Stuart. All of them used threading in some of their designs before WWI and I think a strawberry prunt as well. I would have purchased it too!
