Vintage McDonalds Bottom Embossed Clamshell Sandwich Containers
Big Mac (100 % Pure American Beef)
Fillet-O-Fish (Prime White Filets From The North Atlantic)
Back in 1990, during the time when styrofoam bans were big news, McDonald’s stopped using it for sandwich clamshells.
Based on the time of that decision, these clamshells are at least 30 years old.
McDonalds got rid of styrofoam beverage containers a while later in 2012.
These are in very nice shape for their age with working closure tabs.
The sandwiches have been removed.... long ago.
Thanks for Looking at my Post!
When I see these, it reminds me of a story..I was eating the (new at that time) McDLT..it was served in a double clamshell ..like 2 halves and you put them together. I took a bite, but out of the corner of my eye saw something..in the pile of lettuce was a bunch of tiny spiders crawling all over. They tried to give me another burger..yeah..No!
Definitely, NOT a Happy Meal....
There’s a museum in a defunct elevator shaft down an alley near Chinatown in NYC dedicated to “contemporary archaeology” and “object journalism” - this rivals anything I’ve seen there. I’m loving it!
