OK perhaps not a marvel but it was miniature and mechanical. The real one that is. It had a top speed of under 74 mph. It was made foe the European market. What it did have is some very cool styling, got to love that reverse slope rear window. Now for the Matchbox details.
The model was made from 1961 through 1966. According to my wheel source the silver plastic wheels on this example were not used after 1962 althoiugh I am not 100% on that. The model has windows but no interior. There is a metal trailer hook. These were a bit fragile as they could bend and break. Later models had plastic trailer hooks which were a bit more pliable.
Made it down the hill to the Rose Bowl today and got some interesting items. It was my first outing down the hill in about three weeks. I still have to climb a glacier to get up from the driveway.
They were popular over here. Remember seeing a few of them around when I was younger.
Glad to hear the glaciers are receding and you can get out and about now.
Ron’s flying car in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”! One of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
