    I found these in the back of an 1858 Bible they are on small pieces of tin I'm guessing 1858 time also or later I think their called tintypes if not please let me know.

      Look to be tintypes. A photo of the entire image front and back should confirm.

      While tintype were in use in 1858, your appear to be later.

      Most likely 1880- 90s based on clothing.

      scottvez, Could the picture of the mother and children be a post-mortem picture of the toddler? The stiff looking arm, expressionless face and closed (or almost closed) eyes and the position of leaning against the mother make the child look deceased.
      The mother has a grim expression.
      Maybe that’s why the pictures were kept in the Bible. If the Bible contains a page for family births/deaths/marriages, maybe there’s a clue to the situation being photographed.

      I cannot discern details due to photo quality, but the two child pose is more indicative of a sleeping child.

      A better photo may provide more details.
