Perfect shape, and a really attractive weird sickish green . Yes I know that colour description is conflicted but I do love a different glass colour.

Lovely glass bunny, he's the bare simplest design, with tiny ear slits, I love him! His colour is cool too, maybe..avocado green?

Scott thank you for your terrific comment, if you like this rabbit it's the highest appreciation with all your beautiful bunnies & hares!

Lol Karen I see your point about the odd green color, US glassmakers seemed to prefer this olive/avocado green to prettier shades like emerald in the 60s-70s, and I think it had something to do with the avocado kitchen appliances of those times (many US-made glass animals were displayed in kitchens esp in windows), but it could be my photos underperformed here as there's so much dark shading in the glass I kept trying different lighting to make Mama Rabbit more transparent, not easy! When you say a sickish green I am remembering the once popular "institutional green" which they used to paint the walls of schoolrooms, hospitals & defense plants with...I worked briefly as a secretary in one of those, who did not upgrade anything since their 1940s wartime heyday, they were famous for sonar radar developed after Pearl Harbor, out of business today. Oddly, now that icky wall paint color is making a resurgence, go figure. Thanks for the smile, I love your fantastic & thought-provoking comment, you get my wheels turning!

Lauren you are right on, avocado was the more popular name for this bunny's color, but in my ref books they claimed Fostoria called it olive green so I went with that. Mama Rabbit does have a really nice simple design, you can tell it's a rabbit but with a '70s modern' spin. Thank you for your awesome comment

Thanks so much Phil for your fab comment and I'm really glad you liked this different type of look for a rabbit. It has a special charm & when I first saw its picture in one of my glass animal books I knew I wanted to find one

Thank you so much Penny for the love for this Fostoria frog, he's my pre-Easter bunny & I'm always grateful for your thoughtful consideration

If he was around here, unfortunately would last long, we have so many and they are such a pest to the farmers around us

      Bruce99, You and me both.

Newfld, racer4four, I'm one of those horrible people who likes that shade of green.

Here's a PDF that shows the Fostoria 2821 family of critters. The Momma rabbit isn't shown in green, but there's a cat in a "Mist" olive green:

      http://20-30-40glasssociety.org/newsletter/2014julaug.pdf

I agree that the production of that shade of green in ornamental glass was probably because of the prevalence of a certain palette of colors in home decor at that time:

      https://www.reddit.com/r/AskOldPeople/comments/omvhke/avocado_green_harvest_gold_burnt_orange_and/

Me, I still like that color palette. It's like a security blanket for me.

I'm not saying that else has to like it, but it does seem to me that the avocado toast generation shouldn't be completely repulsed by it. };-)

Thank you all for the wonderful comments

And Bruce & Vynil for the love, much appreciated

Penny I sure know how destructive real rabbits are (covered chickenwire helps) but they sure are cute :)

Bruce & keramikos, hope you both find one of these Fostoria bunnies, they seem to pop up online every so often

keramikos I love the color green also and this olive/avocado shade is quite pretty - I posted a Fostoria squirrel in this green here a few yrs ago which photographed better than the rabbit (see our Search box). Thank you very much for the great links also, very informative

Thank you keramikos for the kind compliments on my green animals! The Fostorias are like Viking's in that they have dark shadings in the glass so in photos it's hard to see the pure color, in sunlight they're very beautiful (guess if I wasn't so lazy I could take more pix outside but it's still chilly in NY). Glad you liked the squirrel & my jade green jay!
