On the base, it says 'One hundred 80' and 'Plug'. I thought it was a really cool coffee mug - a bit difficult to clean, but still cool. Modern majolica?

Awesome octopus mug, what a wonderful colorful octopus design! Don't think there is a coffee cup category, usually Pottery covers clay, ceramic, porcelain etc (Kitchen is also right, Animals if you wanted but as you know we are limited to two choices :(
the position of the octopus as if it were swimming in the water, I love it.... what a strange motif for a coffee cup, could it have been made to order for a particular trade?
