Your pictures are really blurry and hard to see detail. But I assume they are playing Go, Not checkers. I have some old Japanese pieces that are playing Go.

This is a Go game. In the pictures I have them incorrectly setup(need to update) they should be on the lines.

Nice piece. An image of the bottom would be good, if it is not as blurry as the other images. You get to post four images....

probably baby board go, normal GO got different grids original grid is 17x17 in real WU ZHOU and TAng grids ( remember if you want to buy antic art)

REal GOBANG is 19 grid and a reasonable grid is a 13 grid, it is also for practical use , a real go game according the old rules sometimes took 6 houres or even longer , and you are totally wasted because you are sitting on the floor

real player only play 19 grid because the have depending or kyu or dan rating ,so they have to and they want to shut out the luck factor because on smaller grits, computers nowadays the algoritmes advantages of the forgifts ,

keep it simple just play the game REVERSI to start with

actually the technical question is the GOBang not simplified to the RENJU !!!! varation of the game , you have to count the intersections , my eyes are to bad
