      Hi, SandyShores. :-)

As Tamasue wrote, the pattern name is "Marietta," and there are a lot of hits on the Internet for it.

Replacements dot com has it, but no opinion as to the vintage:

      https://www.replacements.com/china-syracuse-marietta/c/99437

I couldn't find a vintage based on the style of the back stamp, either.

This website has extensive information about Syracuse China, but mysteriously, no information about the Federal shape:

      https://www.txantiquemall.com/syracuse-china-patterns/

A search of Replacements dot com for "Syracuse China Federal" turned up 50 patterns:

      https://www.replacements.com/search?query=syracuse+china+federal

What I saw over and over was a date range of 1949 to 1967 or 1970 for the Federal shape.

One outlier that goes back further than 1949 is Rosalie which is dated 1942 through 1967:

      https://www.replacements.com/china-syracuse-rosalie/c/99540

There are some Federal shape Syracuse patterns that are not as old as 1949, for example, Cynthia, 1964 through 1967:

      https://www.replacements.com/china-syracuse-cynthia/c/99319

Suzanne lasted from 1949 through 1970:

      https://www.replacements.com/china-syracuse-suzanne/c/99592

What it might come down to is your grandmother's age. That is, how old was she when she bought this china set? Was she a newlywed?

I leave you with a clip of Harry Belafonte singing Suzanne (OK, I just really like it):

Thank you for all the research you both did. I found "Marietta" on the internet and I believe you are both right!! Granny got married in the 1800's, so she was pretty old. I have the entire full set for 12 in perfect condition and then she added pieces to it that were very similar, not not an exact match. Every Sunday she served dinner to almost 20 people at exactly 4pm. If you were a minute late, you didn't eat period. Granny didn't mess around:) Thanks, for the Harry Belafonte song. We have been watching TCM almost every night this month and wish we could see them all but the DVR only does so much and ya gotta sleep!! Thanks again!

      SandyShores, You're welcome. :-)

Sorry that the information about Marietta and indeed about the Syracuse China Federal shape seem to be a bit thin on the ground.

You might try contacting the Onondaga Historical Association, but their help isn't free, and indeed it looks a bit dear:

      https://www.cnyhistory.org/about/frequently-asked-questions/

So Granny cut off anybody who was late for dinner, huh? She was a pistol. };-)

Yeah, all films shown on Turner Classic Movies in the month of March were either Oscar winners or nominees. Crème de la crème.
