I restored a radio for a friend of mine and he has a brother living in Toronto. His brother brought this radio all the way from Toronto to Calgary, Alberta for me to restore.
I replaced all the capacitors, checked the tubes , cleaned the chassis, and aligned the radio.
The radio has seven knobs ,two on each side and three on the front.
It now plays very good.
The cabinet was the part that took the most time. I had to strip it ,repair loose pieces, grain fill the whole radio and mask it off to use toned lacquer.
I had to special order the decals for the push buttons and the RCA logo.
It did take quite a while to get it looking like it should, but the results show that it was worth it.
The owner was quite happy with the results. I just wish I could put more then 4 pictures on collectors weekly.
