1948 Rayline License Plate Frame Advertisement
Approximately 9 1/4" x 4"
If you've seen some of my posts, then you know I love my classic trucks and automobilia. This is a fantastic find! I believe someone mounted it on this thick backing. It's in near mint shape for being from 1948.
Rayline Plate Frame
"A mark of distinction for any automobile" Chrome on solid brass
International Manufacturing Co.
Boston 15, Mass., U.S.A.
(**FYI - Zip Codes weren't introduced until July 1st, 1963**)
The piece is very interesting because it shows the plates from all the states of the U.S. and Canada. It also gives you 1947 statistics for each state, such as: number of passenger and commercial cars, population, if the state has a speed limit, persons per vehicle ratio and if the plates had a sticker validation tab.
I showed the piece and my mint 1948 Minnesota plates.
Here's a link showing the license plate frame advertised in my piece..

Falcon61.. Thanks for the comments.
What a fascinating piece of history not long after ww2 when the USA was the leader in quality manufacturing. Today this would look like a advertisement for the United Nations. Thanks for posting this.
