I’ve forgotten where I got this. It has multiple layers of decorative matter in thick clear glass. I think the gold glitter is gold.
I placed cigarettes in the depressions and they fall backwards out of the groove hence correct - this is not an ashtray! I can find no signature on the bottom. The piece does show signs of a long life at the bottom, so 1950’s is consistent. Looking in sunlight, the metal colour is more copper than gold.
x ( insert macchie d'argento non zanfirico forma libera )
need the bottom because i can,t is it all black or afterglaring and a possible pontil
probably murano
is this an ashtray or a forma libera ( free form ) well it is a hung jury, the reference are the so called byzantino,s triangle murano,s , IMO it is a free form bowl , the side is not to deep incisio and resting point of the guttering is not horizontal , it is hard to compare because byzantino,s are also lattisimo cane ( = Milk colour aqnd Cane are rods , lets say a sort of DNA helix shape)
actually the definition of CANe is more stretched, because you also got CAne distortio, which means warped Cane , we got murrine pattern in a sort of aventurine design
actually we are not in macchie d, oro goldfleck domination , but we are in macchie d'argento ( silver base ground ) actually this like copper specks
IMO openion this is AVEM 60 ties , but is it still GINO Martens , too tough for me his employees made a lot of pieces when het got older, let,s say the benefit of the doubt
addendum to avoid confusion copper specks in stead of gold specks on a argemtum
dominant base
correctie application is shallow , well there is nothing wrong but makes it probably late 50 ties , sorry for chaos
Thank you all for looking and such expert analysis!
