Here is another find from Sunday's antiques market - a really cool glass paperweight doorknob.
This item has a concentric millefiori design, in white, pink, & blue shades.
With a pegged base, the paperweight sits in a metal fitting that enables it to be attached to a door.
Looking at the fitting, it's evident that this is an old, original piece (these doorknobs have also been made in more recent times, circa 1980s by makers such as Strathearn & Perthshire).
The weight itself is in great condition with no damage or scratches.
Could possibly be of Bohemian manufacture, late 19th century.
Fabulous !!!
Gorgeous colorful doorknob it's very kaleidoscopic
Many thanks, Kevin!
Thanks also, Jenni!
~ stunning ~ WOW
Much appreciated, antiquerose!
It will suit your house beautifully if you mounted it. Into your glass room?
Many thanks, Karen, & yes, I'm thinking about doing this for the door to that room. It should fit the existing door furniture...
