These beer cups are about 4.5" high x 2.75" diameter. They were part of the estate of Paul Hahn Jr, PGA Golf Professional for 50 years and Air Force veteran. He and his wife lived in Japan from 2003-2012 when the Japanese items in their estate were acquired. One cup has a label that says "Beer cup", but they are otherwise not marked.

The cups are made of a porous stoneware and have not been used. If they had been used, I am certain that they would have some discoloration. Kiln not known. Not sure if these are art pottery or mass produced, though they are obviously hand made. Traditional Japanese pottery beer cups are uncommon, glass cups are much more common. Both are small and very expensive.

They came in the original cardboard box which is quite tattered and has two labels on it. One is handwritten in Japanese, probably by the artist, but Google Translate would not decipher it. Another, printed label, is very abraded and I am still working on getting an image which Google might be able to decipher. There was also a small paper sheet for Fukuya which is apparently a Japanese delicatessen which also sells some kitchen and bar items. They are still active with several stores on Kyushu, the third largest Japanese island. That label says:

    "please
I checked the product before packaging.
In the unlikely event of damage, we apologize for the inconvenience.
    Please contact the following.
