Decided to venture out a bit further to Volunteer's of America today. There are only a few in Ohio but this one is fairly close only 10 miles from my house. I spied this beautiful 18" diameter lamp shade sitting on a table in the furniture section. While not old it has the Tiffany style florals accented with royal blue ribbons and an unusual dome shape which is much more round than most . Also it's very well put together as there are many small pieces. The base was no where to be found, so I'm not sure if it had been on a lamp or just a hanging fixture. It's quite heavy maybe 10 lbs. or so. My plan is to find a vintage floor lamp base for it. Something heavy with marble or onyx would do nicely. Lit it looks yellowish but the background around the flowers is a "mother of pearl "type white glass. Nothing is broken so I didn't mind paying thirty-five for it which I thought was reasonable. -Mike-
Thanks for the "love" Fort you're quick on the draw :)
It's very pretty, especially when lit. You did well on the price.
It's very impressive when lit up! Hope you find the right base and come back and show us. Nice buy!
Absolutely beautiful stained glass lamp shade, the pattern & colors are awesome
Thanks for the 'loves" and comments DejaVu2, dav2n01, and Jenni. It is and eye catcher. Even got a compliment from a fellow shopper before I paid for it. Right place right time..meant to be mine...lol :) dav2no1 I think the base will cost more than the shade when I do find one, but complete it will be a beauty. :)

very intricate floral design, perhaps of Hungarian inspiration, and nice spent and lit. I would love to have it near and appreciate the quality of the glasses.
Thanks for the "love" and comment kivatinitz. Hungarian hmmm.. that's interesting. Not sure what type of flowers these are. I thought possibly a variety of anemone. Foliage seems correct. Wonder if they grow wild in Hungary. :)
