Here is an interesting & unusual piece of art glass found on eBay AU. Not a bargain, but I thought it was too intriguing to pass up.
The vase is made from two layers of cased glass, clear over a pulled zig - zag or marbled type design in green, yellow, & white. The yellow threads contain cadmium & glow brightly under UV light, but sadly I could not properly capture this effect in a photograph.
The vase measures 20 cm tall, 5.8 cm across the base & 4 cm across the top rim, which is finished with a silver fitting. The seller did provide some information about the silver fitting:
Hallmarked London, capital L (probably 1886), and D.L (probably David Loebl of Schindler & Co) Schindler and Co, 9 Aldermanbury Avenue, London. Originally it was the London Branch of Schindler and Co, Gablonz (Germany), successively taken under control by David Loebl.
Personally, I think the date is a touch early, as the vase looks more likely to date later than 1886, more like 1900. Anyway, I'm here for the glass & not the silver, LOL!
The vase is in great condition with no damage, & I think most likely Bohemian origin but uncertain of an exact maker. Any sensible thoughts welcome!

Very unusual colour for zigzag. Even 1900 seems too early for me - 1920s? I often see these, or similar, in unusual decors and love them, but find them hard to pin down. Not sure if the following link is same, or just similar, shape in great decor, but even in this distinctive example - Kralik? Rindskopf? Steinwald? We may never know...

Where are you shopping, Wow22, that you often see these? I'd like to shop there too!
Literally I have seen a couple in the last few months after over 30 years of collecting art glass!
