Looks to me like a Japanese, Imari, porcelain jar. Flower pot hider ? No marks on the bottom. Hight 21.5 cm. Diam. 21.5 cm. From sometime in the 19th century ? Maybe you can date it more precisely ?

Very nice. I tend to agree with you Golgatha. Dating pieces is not my strong point but Apostata has helped me with a lot of my Asian pieces. He may just pop in and comment if he sees your post. He is the expert here on CW. :)
papa- kasumi-kumo
Thanks Prostata ! Now I'm confused at a higher level ! I googled, but found nothing !?
no i asked my son to flag it , because i am not home , , and i don,t no approval to get out of bed, and i need a lot a lot split screens to isolate, i need to sample , this takes time and a good nurse so it could a few days , it could be a year, ireaaly don,t know, i never forget
keep this in mind , chinese and japanese plates on this side
Large Antique Chinese Porcelain Wall Plaque, THe Boss Marr
an ashaming bad assessment of me of a very nice and expensive plate only it is later then qianlong
lookat the CLOUDS( = YUNWEN)
next reference plate
The Old Asian Porcelain Plate, Hand Painted Enamel, That Is Chinese or Japanese? TRuth of DARe
a remarkable assesment of TOD to say the least, ferro red Dai min sei ka nen sei are by essence very late late meijji , the name yamatoku is and the haragana is on it and the yamatoku kiln wasnot operational in 1850 ( were part of an HIzen conglomoraat
ok could happen, essence watch the ORANGE LINING of the face , the monochrome white face and the small beady eyes
end of part 1
Thanks again. I'm not sure I understood all of it, but hopefully a 'translation' and dating in part 2 !
who stole from who chinese from japanese or reciprocal, possible determinants decominators of alledged yamatoku
upper rim so called macaroni rim , origin = is the type kangxi rim +_ 1700 of the kangxi familli verte and the kangxi famille verte revival periode 1890- 1920
it doesn,t match well
diaper-design = diamond = geometrics= not dominant enough
scene is just an garden with a pierced rock , brocade is an indicatation as INNER DESIGN in ( chinese uesed them mainly in kangxi and not much and qianlong amorials, brocate as inner design is important for japanese
an indicator might be the clouds( chinese Yunwen- versus the japanese KUMO
end part 2
so an reminder about the clouds , its getting tough or my fantasy is the run ( yunwen = chinese - versus kumo
again yunwen, take a whipped cream syringe and spray , what is coming out of it is a type of frolicsome shape of fame
too difficult ok other example
take 2 euro - Olympic Games - Rio 2016
Series: Portugal - Commemorative 2 euro coins see picture , that was the chinese shaping ( there are a lot of chinese shapings but for discussing sake
are clouds clouds ( so bis)
if you want to expres a landscape ( and clouds) , you probably don,t see that in a children in the toy playing cabinet
you need something like a sansui scene , mountain rage scene fugi scene and CLOUDS
to keep it short idont want to fry someone braincells
your clouds which likes floating anvils belongs to an HINODE, = PARTLY CLOUDED SUNRISE , , you need stretch clouds in the environnement of a mountain , with crossbaring and not in a hodgepodge of designs
the clouds without crossBARRING are mostly used for mist which is something different namelijk close to earth and the so called STRATUS position
this is called KASUMI, which means finger mist ---origin i guess mid- EDO in the kakuzara they fill plate the with alooks like lot of shrubs, actually they miss the point IMO because it are what they call SPRINGANNOUNCERS
busy plate IMO to busy , bit confusing compostion of the plethora of designs, i don,t know this combination
the dating of the IZEGare in the YAmatoku is slighty different , but don,t the still make make yamatoku, personnaly it is taisho , maybe something, up or down , probably up
Thanks again. Can we conclude: Japan. Imari. Taisho. Early 20th century ? Or have I got it wrong ?
IMO this is Taisho at best, this is strange design, would not surprise me there is a run out out in Showa
Pretty interesting what Waki is saying about difference in clouds. I like the "floating anvil" description..lol..the cloud on the left looks like the ship from star trek..
