This vase is 7" high x 5" diameter and weighs 5 lbs, 6.4 ounces. It is signed "Lalique R France" on the bottom. Designed in 1939. The R in a circle registration mark was first used in 1980...this vase is still being made.
https://www.realorrepro.com/article/Lalique:
It had two of the original felt pads on the bottom, which I left, but I added three rubber baby buggy bumpers to protect the bottom which is in perfect condition. I cannot find any flaws on this vase. I have not washed it, so there are some fingerprint smudges and sticker goo on it. $14.13 find, out the door, at GW today. I was bummed that there were no senior or veteran's discounts. Now that I have looked at a bunch of Lalique glass, I think there was another style of that maker's vase on the same shelf.
Funny story goes with it. I was in the bric-a-brac aisle making exasperated grunts and groans at how expensive everything was. Down the aisle an older lady was making the same noises. I commented on how expensive everything was and we both went on a rant on that topic. She moved to the end of the aisle and crossed to another set of shelves which has vases on it. I eventually joined her and we both commented that there were some nice vases but, again, everything was overpriced. She grunted when she picked this vase up, noted how heavy it was, glanced at the bottom and set it back on the shelf. I picked it up and immediately noted the inscription. She commented that it was pretty nice and asked me what the mark was. I paused, fearing a potential knife fight, and then she went on a rant about the poor placement of price tags on items and I again joined in. At the first opportunity, I slunk away and the rest is history.
These seem to go for several hundred dollars, used, even with a bit of damage. New ones are priced at $1000 and higher.. Crazy!
Thanks, Falcon61!
Hi.
What a find ! Vase is called Bagatelle.
Lucky you.
Sorry, also should have mentioned its post 1945, as the R is not present on the signature.
Regards Chris.
Awesome Lalique vase, the crystal flower design is really beautiful
A wonderful find kwqd. Lucky you! I've been in similar situations. Seeing something great but having to wait "fingers crossed "to get to it. Prices are crazy. Average low price used to be a $1.99 or less now it'$2-$4. Furniture has really sky rocketed. Low quality particel board stuff forty bucks ! Please.
Lovely piece. Haven't seen much of Amanda lately is she in the dog box?
Thanks for your comments, Thedecoguy! I appreciate it as this is my first piece of Lalique glass.
Thanks for your comments, Jenni! Did you spot the little birds? I need to get some closeups of them and inset them into my images.
Thanks for your comments, mikelv85! Glad that I picked up most of the pieces I needed for my new house before things got so crazy. I did add a wobbly little nightstand to my house for $10 a couple of weeks ago. Just need to put a back on it to steady it up.
Thanks for your comments, BHIFOS. Amanda? She was delicious! On a sad note, my wonderful boy, Charlie, passed away several weeks ago. He had multiple chronic issues. If the shelter had had a chance to do an exam on him, they would probably have killed him immediately. Still, he had a mostly great life for a year and a half with me with only a week or so of difficulty. My only regret with him is that I never got to meet the people who raised him. They must have been very special people to raise such a wonderful cat man.
Thanks for loving my Lalique vase, Kevin, DejaVu2, mikelv85, Jenni, dav2no1, Thedecoguy, BHIFOS and Falcon61!
so beautiful and yes I noticed the little birds my heart is melted.....
Updated images in natural light. Much better, I think.
Thanks for your comments, kivatinitz!

Thanks, Cisum!
Thank you, Leelani!
So sorry to hear about your Charlie kwqd. You did a wonderful thing to rescue him and make his short life one of comfort and love. Kudos man. :)
Thanks, mikelv85. I sure do miss him. He made every day better.
Thanks, GianaMZ, surfdub66, vcal and sherrilou!
Your thrifts sound like our op shops.
They are going all boutique-ish here, and way overpriced. I miss the days of a messy den that took rummaging :)
Still a bargain at $16 Mike. It's beautiful.
Sad but true , Karen! Though ours aren't really becoming upscale, just a lot more expensive. Thanks for your comments! Kevin
What a wonderful find, and as I also shop at gw, am so happy to see they miss a item sometimes and it gets put out for us, instead for their auction and shopping sites! Prices are way up, and selection is pretty picked over prior to hitting the shelves, so yay for the beautiful vase!
Yeah sorry Kevin
Seniors moment
Thanks for your comments, Faith.k! Misery loves company!
No worries, Karen! Seniors' moments are all I have, now. I did meet an 88 year old man while out hiking some pretty difficult trails a few days ago. He was pretty sharp so all hope is not lost!
Thanks Budek and PhilDMorris!
