This is probably my favorite box finds at the thrift store yesterday. A pack of around 50 pages of Cub Scout letterhead. It also says 'Boy Scouts of America and at the bottom 'Be Square' - which is just about the oddest saying i've ever heard. I wonder what they were thinking? Regardless, i will be writing letters on at least some of these.

Seems like you don't hear much about the Scouts in any form nowadays (unless it's bad). I was in the Boy Scouts under duress. My Dad and the scoutmaster were friends at the FAA where they both worked. As far as being square I was always that...lol :)

thanks mikel and wicken! i was also a scout member in Claremont, NH - troop 38. it was the same troop my father and uncle had belonged to as well. I got a lot out of it and really enjoyed my years with them. a friend and i developed a 'restaurant' of wild foods which we preserved all year and then opened the 'restaurant' at the national jamboree. these days, i hear about so many negative experiences, but mine was a very positive one.
