Chinese Carving of Storks

I found this at the local hospice shop years ago, before it became their "Boutique Shop". Now I can hardly afford their prices they are more expensive than the antique shops.
Not sure of the significance of this carving but the Chinese seem to like Storks so must be lucky.
Only soapstone but I love it. 230mm high and 160 wide.
Unfortunately their was no wooden base, need to get out all my nice woodworking tools and make one! :)
