A recent Thrift Store find. This is a large 2.5 inches long Schreiner brooch. It is on schreinery.com as a verified Schreiner piece. (no. WAA15Z) The color is so vibrant. The stones have a high wattage ab finish but some of the stones seem to have a mauve or light purple undertone. Really love the trembler too.

    Rhinestone! Yay!

Maureen, I have always envied your thrift stores! Who gives away a Schreiner to a thrift? Though I did find my trembler in a "2nd. hand" store and that small grapes brooch which we determined wasn't Schreiner ( I still see it for sale once in a while as a Schreiner) just like Juliana pieces that are NOT! All those beautiful blues and the gun metal backing is in great shape!
Lucky you my dear ! Here's hoping you find more in the future! I pop in every now and then, so many of us have left. It doesn't feel the same anymore here, but I do miss my friends...Take care and you know how to reach me!
      Warmly,
      Eileen

Jenni, So true, I would love to have a dress for it and an occasion for both! Thanks for the love and comment!

Eileen, I am not sure I know the difference between a second hand shop and a thrift. There are two charity run shops in town that attract a upper level of donations, and the city had a storied past. Consequently you can sometimes find something good. Especially if it is unsigned. Schreiner is like D&E in terms of sellers. Everyone wants it to be real. As you know, knowledge is the key! You are an expert in D&E and Juliana. So good to have you pop in a make a comment. I hope you're finding good things this summer, too. Really things are quite sparse, but it is fun to look.

And thanks to the other collectors who left some love for my brooch. They are:

This one does give illusions of great stones. partly because of the sophisticated use of black japanning on the metal. Each stone appears to have an almost outline appearance which defines a better look at the almost glowing sparkly stones !

PhilDMorris - Many thanks for your insightful comment. The stones are gorgeous. I read somewhere that Sherman once considered having Schreiner manufacture some of Sherman's pieces. This didn't go through. Some of Sherman's and Schreiner's work have design are similarities. Your Sherman posts are always so fabulous.

Thank you collectors for your Love for this brooch:
