This has to be one of my best ever buys on eBay AU! I spent a nervous week waiting for this listing to end, hoping that no one else noticed it. Lucky for me, nobody did! Even better, I sold a vase on eBay the same night which covered the (modest) price of this pair.
A pair of vases, made from green glass with an iridescent finish & thin horizontal windings of applied glass, they measure 18.5 cm tall & 4.5 cm across the bases, which have neatly polished out pontil marks. One of the vases is slightly wider across the crimped top rim coming in at 5.3 cm to the other one's 5 cm.
When I saw these, I knew they were something special...a bit of research helped me to find out they were an example of Loetz Creta Chine, PN I - 7912.
Beautiful, and well spotted Marin. Congrats!
These 2 are off the chart!
These are beautiful. I find the 4th photo very, very interesting - where the threading on the RH vase does not really sit proud of the surface. I'm not sure I would have identified that as 'chine' were it not for its mate.
Well worth playing the waiting game. Patience is a virtue. Finding a matched pair of vases of this quality must be very satisfying, IronLace!
Yay you!
Many thanks, Peggy! It's a great feeling, isn't it!
Thanks also, Deano! Yes, I'm loving these!
Many thanks, Wow22!
Yes, I noticed it when I was checking out the sellers photos...it is really interesting the amount of pairs of vases I have that exhibit notable differences despite being of the same decor. These have a minor size difference as well...oh the joys of handmade glass!
Thanks also, Russell177!
I'm a very patient person in general even though it can be nerve - wracking as well...but the rewards are usually worth the wait!
Much appreciated, Karen! I'm a happy camper that's for sure!
well done, a beauty
Thank you most kindly, kivatinitz!
