Here is a 6"W x 4 1-2"H blue glass donkey that was item #916 in the Pilgrim Glass catalog of 1972, one of the rarest of their window glass colored animals to find, as was their bigger lead crystal version #911 which I posted previously. Finally!!
Hmmm! Certainly is a male donkey, lol! I'm surprised they added that feature to him. His color is handsome!!
Congrats.
It is a wonderful donkey, so full of life with the spread legs, ears up and active tail. Awesome colour blue
He's so cool, very artsy and a bit...um...modern? Art deco? I really like him, he's cool, the pose is strong, looks like he's acting all stubborn as donkeys do. I won't lie though, seeing him like that in the thumbnail, I though those big ears of his were goat horns.
I thought right away donkey, so nice in that very fetching blue !~
Many thanks to you all for the love

Lol DejaVu, yes even tho the Pilgrim animals were smallish, once in awhile they were anatomically correct - their bull is another one (as if we didn't know THAT one was male!). Thank you for your fab & fun praise and loving this shade of blue
Karen thanks so much for your super compliments & kind congrats, I was really, really happy to finally find this rare little guy, you know how sometimes you do a search but it's usually fruitless or you see one already sold. Funny isn't it that these little animals used to go for under $20, but they're so delicate not all survived these many yrs later. Glad you liked that pretty blue it's very oceanic
Once again Lauren you've nailed it, I can definitely see the goat comparison, and one of the reasons may be those exaggerated ears which Pilgrim did for many of their animals for some reason, guess they wanted to be unique in the glass animal world. His pose does look very stubborn I agree. Thank you for your wonderful compliments
Phil I'm so glad you found this blue pretty & recognized the donkey, he is really cute & if you look at the catalog picture, they did a great job recreating him as these were all hand blown. Thank you for your awesome praise as ever
Thomas thank you so much for thinking of me this week & loving my posts, you are super kind & very much appreciated!!!
Thank you Cindy for the love for this blue glass donkey, he's very special to me & I'm so happy you liked him
Thank you JB for the love for this Pilgrim donkey, this was a great find for me & I'm so glad you liked it
