I got this table in the local thrift store for the equivalent of USD 10. A few wormholes at the base. Hight 76 cm. Diam. 41 cm. The style points to around 1800. But is it that old or is it a replica from 'yesterday' ? You tell me ?

It's very nice...but to my eye, it appears to be a married piece? In the pictures the stain color is different and there's a square part around the center connection. It was truly original and of that age, you would expect everything to match and the color to all be the same from years of dust and polish. Just my opinion..you have the piece and ability to inspect it further.

Thanks dav2no1. On the photo the blitz light is reflected on the under side central square. That explains the color difference.

Maybe it's just a Camara trick, but it sure looks like there's a larger outer circle where a different base was attached?

I haven't found any traces of an earlier base. Probably the blitz is responsible.
