I recently went on my first road trip in 5 years...just a short one, to the Southern Highlands, a place I used to visit regularly between 2004 - 2016. During that time, I had my fair share of finds in the various shops there, & naturally, checking out some of my old haunts was of top priority this time.
Lucky for me, I had two super finds, & this is the first one, a charming candlestick by Welz. It is made from three layers of cased glass, clear over pink (zig zag lines decor) with a white interior. The candlestick measures 13.5 cm tall, 5.5 cm across the top rim, & 10 cm across the base. There is a clear applied "bumpy" handle, & a clear applied footed base with a crimped form.
Last photo shows it with another Welz candlestick of the same form in a different decor.
Bohemian origin.
It is beautiful!
Beautiful Welz!!
What a wonderful find on your first trip in years!

Really Lovely !!!!
so nice all the vases.... you know CW no longer notifies me by email when people I follow post an article.....
I can see you fitting in to the Southern Highlands Marin, although parts might be a bit conservative for you.
Nice find!
Many thanks, Deano!
Thanks also, Scott!
Much appreciated, Kevin!
Thanks so much, kivatinitz - & yes, same for me, I no longer get any emails from CW either...
Many thanks, Karen!
Yes, I think I'm a bit too alternative for the Highlands! :-)
