Today I spotted two super Czech Tango era glass vases through the window of a local op shop - needless to say I was right in there & made them mine ASAP.
However! I was informed by the salesperson that there'd been more...& that she'd purchased one as well as some other customers. So, happy as I was with my haul, afterwards, all I could think was...what did I miss out on?! I suppose it's better that I don't know but tell my imagination that, LOL.
Anyway...the first one shown in detail here is a double cased vase of orange & purplish brown spatter with a flared form ending in a wavy, trefoil crimped top. It measures 22.5 cm tall, 11.5 cm across the top rim, & 6.5 cm across the base.
It has a look of blazing flames.
Czech origin, 1920s - 30s era.
Op shopping is fomo all round.
I can cruise all day doing nothing, decide to go op shopping, and when I park there I worry I’m about to miss something the people already in there might find before me.
Batsh1t crazy really.
Karen, I knew you'd understand! :-)
I was discussing this "special interest" of mine recently, & summed it up like this...searching for stuff online & in shops is a source of comfort & routine, & also a source of unexpected thrills - & a sort of anxiety is inherent in that, I guess.
Yes, I am always thinking that someone else found all the awesome stuff already before I walk in...like a shelf full of Kralik, Loetz, etc for a few bucks, LOL...
