Small U.S.A. Flag and Washington State Flag
Flag Poles- 50" tall
Flag Size- 10" x 24"
Era 1960s - 1970s
I recently acquired these two flag poles and flags. I believe they may have been boat flags?
The U.S.A. flag is a mystery. There is a model name and company logo with name on it but I can't figure out what it says. If anyone has some ideas, please comment.
The Washington state flag was manufactured by the Puget Sound Tent and Awning Company. The company used this name between 1962 and 1983.
In case anyone was wondering..my family bought this house in 1965 shortly after it was built. And Yes..thats a built in charcoal BBQ.
PUGET SOUND TENT AND AWNING COMPANY
(127 years and still going...)
Henry Carstens founded the company in 1896 under the name Puget Sound Tent & Duck. The company was located on the Seattle waterfront and sold tents and camping equipment to goldminers heading north to Alaska for the Gold Rush.
Bob Campbell and Al Cox bought Puget Sound Tent & Duck in 1962. The name was changed to Puget Sound Tent & Awning.
A LITTLE TO THE LEFT GEORGE
As per state law, the Washington state flag is printed on both sides so that George Washington is facing to the left from either side its viewed from. Additionally it's the only state flag with a president.
