Snoopy, the anthropomorphic beagle, first appeared in Charles M. Schultz comic strip Peanuts on October 4, 1950, two days after the debut of the Peanuts comic strip on October 2, 1050. In 1951 his birthday was celebrated on August 28th. In the August 10, 1968 cartoon strip, Snoopy had a surprise birthday party. The August 10th date took hold and it became his official birthday.
