To Ewald from Dot; Dick & Jim.... What Year and Make is Your Bicycle?
Another original photo I discovered in my bunch of pics for a couple of dollars.
I'm attempting to put a year and make on this old bicycle.
There are plenty of clues.... but it's been a long day.
Let's see....
A barn, working windmill, striped overalls, a Schwinn style skip tooth front sprocket, a springer, a goofy looking stand, a baseball bat, a springy seat, Schrader air stems, short hair, and no smartphones..... I give up for tonight. I'll try again some other time.
Any idea?
Maybe a schwin without all the extras?

Perhaps..... It appears they took off the chainguard. I remember growing up on the farm that it was common to remove safety devices to get them out of the way.
the crank looks to match Hoffman; the front frame was changed from curved to straight in 1943

Yep Vynil33rpm... I believe you are correct...
Dick and Jim are in the correct lineup as written on the back of the photograph.
Dick is holding the baseball bat in which he probably used to persuade Jim to climb up on his bicycle.
