    (1232 items)

I quick run into GW over the holiday weekend scored me these two great items. The 1950's Redman picnic basket (missing it's foil label inside) was in great shape for only four bucks. Study metal handles and a waffle patterned lid perfectly compliment the beautiful diamond weave basket. It may originally have had a removable platform tray inside or other interior fittings. The second find was a bit of a curiosity. A cobblers cast iron shoe anvil stamped "Guaranteed" (R) mounted to a very nice oak base for just five bucks. The removable last is rather small so maybe for a child's shoe or a very petite women's shoe. Seems rather old too. Square head screws were used to attach it to the base and it stands about 26" tall. -Mike-

Thanks for the"loves" and comments Jenni and Fort. Hadn't been out and about in a week or so. Sometimes taking a break from shopping reboots the "find factor" :)

Wonderful picnic basket Mike! I love these. I have an early 1950's Abercrombie & Fitch picnic basket with complete set of picnic ware. The cobbler's iron is great. My grandfather had one that he repaired the family's shoes on. Wish I knew whatever became of that.
