Both items are a mystery. Trying to help a friend with the copper item. The iron item I dug up in my yard. Which was at one time a farm.

Welcome to CW. We love a good mystery here. Try to make sure your items are framed square in your pictures.(the can with 3 holes)..this makes image searching easier. You can edit you post and reload pictures. Also the software on this site can be a pain..try editing your photos by changing the dimensions..sometimes a little off the side will make it upload right side up.
Help us help you..Give us details! Does the can have separate compartments or is it just one piece with 3 holes? Any markings?
How much does the iron piece weigh? Heavy? I think it looks like a scale weight or counterbalance weight for a door? Just a guess.
The gray thing with the square hole looks like a grinding stone or milling stone. The thing you dug up is it solid and heavy? It looks like some type of counterbalance or weight
Laura..I think that's the bottom of the iron piece not a third item?
the weight looks like a pea for a steelyard scale, they come in different sizes.
The thing with the 3 holes makes me think it’s part of a feed or water container for chickens.
Watch..that was my thoughts too..chicken feeder..
depending on its weight, the iron weight could be a horse weight. You know, the kind that you hitch to old dobbin bridle to keep him stay where you put him. Just a guess.
