WWII Postal Savings Plan For Defense Bonds
These were available during WWII to fund the war efforts. This book is a .25 cent book. If you fill it with all 75 stamps it's worth $18.75 and can be used to purchase a Defense Savings Bond that would mature in 10 years and be worth $25.
"Defense savings stamps, which could be purchased at post offices, were available in denominations of ten cents, twenty-five cents, fifty cents, one dollar, and five dollars, and were promoted as a way for children and others to accumulate funds for the purchase of savings bonds to help the war effort."
