BIOCERAMIC SCUBA FIFTY FATHOMS COLLECTION

ATLANTIC OCEAN

This Blancpain X Swatch watch honors Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms, the first true diver’s watch. Its blue case and crown are made of Bioceramic material. The word “Swatch” is inscribed on the outer left side of the case. The metal dial is printed in several layers of color for a gradient effect. The hour indexes, hour, and minute hands, as well as the scale on the bezel, are enriched with Grade A Super-LumiNova® for outstanding legibility in the dark. The one-direction rotating ocean blue-colored Bioceramic bezel, and biosourced glass are treated with an anti-scratch coating. The SISTEM51 mechanical movement is visible thanks to a transparent sapphire glass and features an illustration of the Atlantic Ocean and the Glaucus Atlanticus nudibranch in digital print. Five inspirational inscriptions can be found on the back of the watch: PASSION FOR DIVING – LICENCE TO EXPLORE – OCEAN BREATH – PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE and IMMERSE YOURSELF. The NATO strap is made of recycled fishing nets that were removed from the sea. The pin buckle and loops are made of Bioceramic material.

The watches in the Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection are equipped with Swatch’s mechanical movement SISTEM51. This Swiss-made mechanism features just 51 parts including only one central screw, has a 90-hour autonomy and is fully anti-magnetic thanks to its hairspring made with Nivachron™, ensuring high precision.

In true Swatch fashion, every SISTEM51 movement is visible thanks to a transparent display back. All five watches in the Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection feature an illustration of one of the five magnificent, colorful nudibranchs found in each of the five Oceans.

Glaucus Atlanticus
This collection comes in exclusive colors that were inspired by the nudibranchs. Nudibranchs inhabit all five oceans and are known for their often-extraordinary colors and striking forms. Glaucus Atlanticus, also known as the blue dragon, can be found drifting on the surface of the Atlantic.

BIOCERAMIC
Developed and patented by Swatch, Bioceramic is a unique blend of two thirds ceramic used in high-end watchmaking and one third biosourced material derived from castor oil, resulting in a very durable, scratch-resistant product with a silky matte finish.
