A rare Wells Gardner console

This is a 1939 Wells Gardner console with 11 tubes. I did not have to refinish the cabinet , just clean it up and polish it.
There were a couple of veneer chips that had to be replaced, but it turned out OK.
The transformer had to be replaced because it was burnt out.. I had one from a junker that would work very well.

I had to enlarge to hole in the chassis to make the new one fit. After recapping the radio, it all came together and now it plays very well.

The precious owner had the glass for the top custom made for the radio.
This is another one that will last for another 60 years.
