1972 was Cadillac's 70th Anniversary as well. While the Deville as a coupe and sedan was their most popular model the Eldorado was a success in the front wheel drive category. Available as a hardtop and as the only luxury convertible built in America. The Calais coupe/sedan was the renamed 62 series entry level Cadillac and named after the city in France that overlooks the English channel. -Mike-
Paul and I worked at Ruggieros Market as teenagers in JP in 1965 The owner was married to Paul's sister. He had a 1965 Eldorado red convertible with white leather interior. He let Paul drive it one day so we cruised Nantasket Beach like King's picking up girls. The rest of the story I'll keep private. That Boat was a Chick magnet!!
