COMING TO YOU FROM A PRIVATE STUDIO WE SIMPLY CALL THE CLUBHOUSE.
I AM JUST FINISHING SETTING UP A FIVE PIECE, PROFESSIONAL ENERGY SERIES GRETSCH DRUM KIT. ALL THATS LEFT TO DO IS SET UP SOME MICS AROUND THE KIT, PUT ON SOME HHEADPHONES AND GO TO WORK.
I OWN 4 KITS, THE ONE HERE, TWO FOR THE ROAD AND ONE AT HOME.
MY WORK, PASSION AND LOVE IS MUSIC, ALL OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.
MY ROOTS GO BACK TO THE MUSCLE SHOALS AREA OF ALABAMA, ALL THE WAY TO THOSE BOYS THEY CALLED, "THE SWAMPERS".
I BELONG TO SEVEN DIFFERENT STATE MUSIC ASSOCIATIONS, I TRAVEL ALOT, SO ALL MY POSTS ARE ACTUALLY FROM A I-PHONE.
I ALSO OWN 1/4 OF A CBD DISPENSARY, ALL LEGAL..SO, ENJOY THE DRUM KIT IF ITS YOUR THING..IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MINE.
THANK YOU,
THOMAS HOOD.
I often thought it must be difficult to be a professional drummer..a lit of stuff to carry, unpack and setup every time. How long does it take to set up a kit like this? And do you have to go through and tune each drum every time? I imagine moving them around can make them out of tune?
Face now, About 20 minutes. I can almost do it in My sleep. I play a 8 piece Ludwig on the road.
I do not let anyone set them up. I do have help toteing them up and down those ramps..if I should need help in an emergency, I just call My cousin Patrick Hood and He and His group "Drive By Truckers" will stop by.
John Bonham from Zeppelin used only a 4 piece by the way.
I play regionally between 3 cover bands, so I am gone alot.
Many factors can effect drum heads, weather and most of all, the venue size. A Drum Key is allways with Me, like a guitarist with a pick.

Dav2no1, Also, there is all the other equipment. Sound equipment..4 monitors, floor and stand. Soundboard, 3 amps, mics, cables, etc. We all pitch in..its like the Marines..Leave No Man Behind..No Instrument behind and get the Hell out of Dodge before the mob gets You! Lol!
I would not trade what I do for nothing..its My Livelihood.

My friend I grew up with..and still lives down the street...Steve is the bass player for Metal Church, Autograph and his own band Alive 85, which is an Elvis re-imagined type band. With Metal Church they tour world-wide... I can't imagine the logistics to move all that equipment all over the place. Nowadays you can barely fly a few cities away without getting your luggage stolen.
Great post Thomas!!!
