Found this nice charger plate at the thrift store. Art of Tulips and Foliage with an interesting color style. .Made by the Bawo & Dotter company (Elite/L/France), with an import mark from Pitkin & Brooks (B/Limoges/France). The markings put this piece in the 1900-1914 range. The front has a signature with what looks like FRANCE, where an artist signature would be. Measures 12 1/4” in diameter and is in immaculate condition. Any info on an artist would be helpful.
France is the signature of the artist Robert W. France. He had a porcelain painting studio in Chicago from 1906 to 1916. He was born in New York in 1870. Pitkin and Brooks was an importer of the white porcelain from Limoges as well as a retailer of work by free-lance artists. Your P&B mark dates from 1903-1917.
