This set of pressed crystal hashioki are each 2.5" long x 1.5" wide x .75" high. They are not marked but came in a labeled box with a maker's stamp. They have a crosshatch design on the bottoms. The writing on the lid says "chopstick rests" and the maker's stamp is illegible except, perhaps, for the initials "H.A.". Maker unknown. The technique is possibly a combination of cut and pressed crystal.
I found a seller in Japan who recently discovered a cache of new old stock hashioki, which are very high quality. I bought most of them, since the seller was very flexible on the price. I am going to suspend collecting for several months to conserve funds, and this was a last fling. Some of the sets name the artist/designer, and some, like this one, are a mystery. I suspect that the stamp identifies the maker, but it is not translatable. The Yoshiki Ueno set is from this cache and I have four more to post.
Beautiful hashioki sets today, this crystal is especially lovely
