Hello everyone!!
The latest addition to my cast iron boot scraper collection is this early 1920's Dachshund boot scraper. As you'll notice, this one has the tongue out, which are the most highly sought after. Some cast iron boot scrapers are two piece design, but this one is solid cast iron and quite heavy. He was covered in moss when I took ownership of him and once I cleaned all of the moss, dirt and surface rust from him, his original dark green color shown thru. I actually didn't know his color was green until I applied a coat of transparent wax and polished him, to help protect his finish, and photographed him. The digital pics really brought out his colors. He's 22" long, 7 1/2" tall and weighs in at 32.6 lbs . The first pic shows of all my large boot scrapers grouped together. I have smaller ones that I'll post later.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!

Wow looks like you’ve got your Dox(suns) in a row
Or is that with Ducks
Scott - Cool collection. I've tried to buy some over the years, but they have alluded me.
Vynil,
Lol!! Thanks friend!! Looks like a Doxie, walks like a Doxie, it must be a Doxie:)
Dave,
Thanks very much!! There are quite a few of the "Ring Tail" with no tongue out and there are a lot of reproductions of that particular style, but those are pretty easy to spot. The Dachshund boot scrapers with tongue out are the ones I keep an eye out for. Most sellers have them way over priced. The most I've ever paid for one is $75.
