Hello everyone!!
This is a pair of, what's referred to as, 21 Club NY Jockeys. The details are so realistic. If you're not familiar with the 21 Club NY, the entrance to the restaurant is lined with jockeys of which these were modeled after. The entrance way if pretty spectacular looking with all those impressive looking jockeys. I'm really not sure if these were intended to be bookends or simply statues, but they work well for either. I landed this pair for an incredible price due to a portion of the foot, on one of the jockeys, is broken off. I'm willing to believe that our CW friend Kyratango would have that repaired in the wink of an eye, but I'm not as talented as her when it comes to this sort of repair. These jockeys are spelter and mounted on aluminum bases. They each stand 9" tall (alone) and 10 1/2" tall (with base). The bases measure 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" and 1 1/2" thick. These date back to around 1950.
Thanks for stopping in for a look at my 21 Club NY jockeys!!!
