Matchbox Monday is back and with something a bit less common. This is a Major Pack which were scaled to fit the regular Matchbox cars but were larger. This one is over twice as long as a regular Matchbox. It is a Caterpillar wheel tractor-scraper aka road grader. I am thinking there was only one box type and no major variations 1957 through 1961.
The major feature of this Major Pack is that it is articulated and that the scraper trailer can be removed from the tractor. Plus there is a metal driver molded to the seat. In a defunct Matchbox site the members used to name these characters. Generally they were clearly English and were named something like Nigel. This one is driving a Cat so I am thinking Fred.
