    ALCO was a major manufacturer of steam locomotives but they didn't make it in the diesel era. I think they made it into the early 1960s and did better than their steam competition Baldwin. As for this AHM makes fair quality models, just above TYCO but this is a nice one. It is a switch engine as were most of the early diesel locomotives. I think it is an S-4 Locomotive.
    I fear I have more locomotives and rolling stock coming up. Stay tuned as usual.

      Nice switcher engine and I like the old Burlington Northern paint scheme. You still see these engines in use today.

      I don’t know…personally, I’d consider AHM to be light years better than anything Tyco put out, at that time. Plus, they had locomotives that no one else would even consider (it was a long time before Proto made an ALCO S4) and painted them in schemes that no one else bothered with (remember their Frisco GP7?). Either way, seeing that old blue box switcher is like seeing a childhood friend, to me!
