BY THE TIME OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON IN 1959, THE CHIPMUNKS, THOSE THREE FELLOWS KNOWN AS ALVIN, THEODORE AND SIMON, WERE CLIMBING THE CHARTS WITH THEIR OWN SONG AND A CHRISTMAS SONG AT THAT. IT INSTANTLY BECAME A HOLIDAY CLASSIC.
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1959 SINGLE RELEASE ON THE LIBERTY RECORD LABEL.
MUSIC COMPOSED BY THE KNOWN MR. DAVID SEVILLE.
THANK YOU,
THOMAS H.
We kids listened to this a million times during the Christmas season.
Nice post
Nice one!! It's not Christmas until you've heard the Chipmunk Song!!
Love the Monks
Such a happy Christmas song, their voices are adorable
Cisum, Cool. :-)
I'm stretching my Christmas rule a bit (no Christmas talk before the 15th of December), but what the hey.
Love me some David Seville and the Chipmunks. I remember being wowed as a child when I played a chipmunk record at a lower than normal RPM and realized that all of the chipmunk voices were David Seville.

David Seville, AKA Ross Bagdasarian, was very talented:

Here's a still of Alfred Hitchcock and Ross Bagdasarian in "Rear Window":

It was an apt role for Bagdasarian, because among other things, he was indeed a songwriter.
