Young man in 1940 going to Army camp sends Mom card to say he arrived safely. Hope he made it through the War!!! I think he went to Fort Dix NJ. I grew up in Dorchester too. It took me about 6 hours after I was drafted in 65 to get there. Bus Stopped at a diner on the way there and a great memory of the sign on the wall as you walked in !!!
FREE GUM UNDER ALL TABLES AND CHAIRS!!!
Now that's the sign of a Great Greasy Spoon Restaurant!!!

That's funny and a nice piece of History. Thanks for sharing it. I am giving away my collection of about 300 antique and vintage postcards for free to anyone who would like them as much as much as I have and not just resell them. Please contact me if interested. SERIOUSLY FREE
Thank you MishMasher for your great offer!! I'm limited for space and I do sell some of my postcards from Time to time. Maybe another CW Member will take you up on your very generous offer.

You're the first & only person to inquire so they are yours if you'd like. Thanks for giving them a good home. I'm not sure what we should do from here & I don't want to break any rules so I'll let you lead the way.

Please forgive me Yougottahavestuff I have been away from CW for a little while. I didn't mean to vanish & haven't changed my mind either. I'll be in touch with you soon & mailing all but the two postcards I posted today!!!
It's a new year maybe you should keep them!! I love pulling them out and relooking at them and you find something you didn't see before, like the
St. Petersburg one I just posted. Love reading what people wrote.

That's kind of you offer however, I'd much rather that they are owned by a fellow postcard lover than discarded in the trash when I leave this earth. I believe they have survived for so many years for a reason. They still have a purpose and I want to make sure I do my part in passing them along.
