ON THIS DAY, IN 1981, JOHN LENNON WAS SHOT AND KILLED OUTSIDE OF HIS NEW YORK CITY APARTMENT BUILDING. THE MAN WHO GREW UP ON PENNY LANE IN LIVERPOOL WAS GONE...ALL HE WANTED WAS FOR THE WORLD TO COME TOGETHER AND GIVE PEACE A CHANCE.
