Nice little find earlier in the week. This Vintage Japanese Kokeshi doll with a painted landscape scene of a home among large mountains, with beautiful red and green leaf trees. Simple facial features. Standing at 7.25 inches tall, it has a removable head with a peg that fits into the body. There is some writing on the piece but I don’t which is a signature, or a short poem on the sides. There is no markings on the bottom.

Ive found a website that archives Kokeshi artists and seals. I’ve yet to find my artist, if anyone would like to weigh in on the potential signature please feel free.
