This was a gift from my partner the other day. He found it at Goodwill. It has an engraved 'TOLEDO' at the base of the blade. It's very tiny and locks open w/ the visible latch. Maybe it's a 'scimitar style'? Any idea when this was made? I assume the 'Toledo' is the one in Ohio, not Spain, but i really don't know.

After seeing what dav2 put on I guess your knife isn't from Ohio. Nice gift I would say.

thank you dav2no1 and afterthought. i've gained more appreciation for this gift after reading about it. i recognized it as an imitation of damascene, but not as actual damascene - probably produced by a 19th c machine - but damascene nonetheless.
