This is a 1950s, three-color traffic signal that originally saw service at the corner of 141st St. and Union Turnpike in Queens, New York. It legally was removed from service in November, 2021. Traditionally, this unit had all incandescent lamps and colored glass lenses in use. Later in time, the NYCDOT would retrofit with LED modules after 1997. It currently is working based on a sequencer within the interior of the housing, just as it once did when in service.

The fourth picture to the right, courtesy of Google Maps, depicts when this traffic was still in service. September, 2014.
