This was a super win on eBay AU on Christmas night (while cooking dinner LOL).
It is made from a single layer of green glass with a honeycomb pattern over a swirling lobed form. There is an intense iridescent finish.
The vase measures around 13.5 cm tall, 9.5 cm across the top rim, & 7.5 cm across the base. It is the biggest vase of this type I've encountered & has a girth of around 47 cm! Very impressive in person & much better than the eBay photos depicted.
It is completed with a brass flower frog, thankfully intact!
Bohemian origin, circa 1900.
As you know, Marin, I love these. I particularly love the raised hexagonal design on this one as I've never seen it before. The girth can be as much as 70 cm. btw so still scope for finding larger ones. As if you needed an excuse...........
Thanks so much, Peggy!
Before I posted this I went through all your posts to see if you had one like it, because, in my opinion, you're the boss of rose bowl vases on CW! To find out you don't have this decor is amazing...when I spotted it on eBay I was very keen. Lucky for me there was no competition & the price was reasonable!
I am more than happy to find more as well...the iridescent ones seem rare here, usually it's the Tango variety that turn up more often, though usually at much higher prices now...
