For my final post of 2023, here's a bright & cheery piece of Tango glass that turned up under the Christmas tree!
This vase is made from two layers of cased glass, clear over brilliant yellow, with an applied black crest. It measures 21.1 cm tall, 11.3 across the crimped top rim, & 7.3 cm across the base.
Czech origin, circa 1920s.
Fourth photo shows it with a selection of Tango glass vases of a similar trumpet form with crimped tops. Note that the new arrival is the only one with a flat disc style base.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year, CW folks!
Very nice!! I really love all of the vases grouped together in pic #4. Happy New Year my friend!!
I don't know why you comment on the disc base. Please tell. My first ones (a pair) had the disc base and for a long while I wouldn't buy other types of foot fearing they were not Welz. lol
Happy New Years to you too.
Happy New Year Marin, beautiful Tango glass
Many thanks, Scott!
Peggy, this is my first of this type of vase with a disc base, which is why I made the comment...all the others I have in this form have either rounded, cone, or flared bases. So it was a new one on me! :-)
Thanks also, davno1!
Many thanks, Jenni!
