I'm so frustrated because the images I upload always end up upside down. Its very irritating & I'm To the point of feeling violence is in order . Inflicting great bodily harm to this damn device will show it exactly how I feel about it!!

Relax. It’s an old problem here on CW. I finally worked out that you can’t just load a pic you’ve taken. You need to edit the pic. I normally just take a slither off one edge to centre the image better. You can upload it and it will be right side up. The old photo unedited it just deleted.

An easy way I have found is turning the phone sideways to take the picture. If the picture comes out straight up do a test picture on making a CW post, if it looks straight up it will post that way. Another way is getting a tablet to take your pix, those photos usually post just as you took them. Good luck

I concur with Newfld, hold Your device sideways. Also, You should have a rotate option.

Resize the photos. Also make them wider than they are tall.

MishMasher, Yup, bad image orientation is far from a new problem on Collectors Weekly Show & Tell.

Digital cameras keep track of the device's orientation at the time a picture is taken:

      https://jdhao.github.io/2019/07/31/image_rotation_exif_info/

Unfortunately, CW S&T software is old, and doesn't play nicely with all source devices.

The ability to rotate the orientation of images in a post was an option promised long ago by CW S&T management; however, I suspect that won't happen. Support seems skeletal nowaways.

What vetraio50 suggests is probably the best workaround.

I don't have the problem, probably because I don't use a cellphone to take a picture, I always use a camera. Sometimes just loading it on a desk computer will help. Otherwise I would do what vetraio50 suggested.

Newfld has the right answer also - hold you camera vertically not horizontal when takiing the photo. I never really ever held the camera horizontaly when I took a portrait, ever !~

Update.. the phone has survived my outburst and I have calmed down. Thank you all for the comments and
suggestions. I will follow your advice
